Tradeshows and live events are back in 2022! After spending two years in anticipation of the return to live tradeshows and events, we are finally seeing positive advancements in that direction and E&E ExhibitSolutions® is ready to help you with your trade show displays. In order to gain a perspective of where the industry was in 2020 versus now in 2022, we reviewed a survey by Exhibitor Magazine. In the first quarter of 2020, nearly 300 US exhibiting companies were surveyed. The average marketer anticipated exhibiting at 54 events in 2020 prior to the lockdowns.

The number of tradeshows that marketers are attending in 2022 is impressive but are not yet at the 2020 level. According to Exhibitor Magazine, most companies anticipated exhibiting at an average of 37.4 live events in 2022. 70% of the companies surveyed in 2020 have returned to tradeshows in 2022. Most of the company representatives who responded said they do not have travel bans in place. However, 14% of the marketers noted that their companies considered tradeshows and events as “essential travel”. This bodes well for the tradeshow industry.

Regarding virtual shows, exhibit managers participated in an average of 4.6 virtual shows and events in 2021, while they only anticipate participating in an average of 2.4 virtual events in 2022. To me this just reinforces the fact that people prefer to meet face-to-face at tradeshows.
